Roberto Calenda, the agent of Victor Osimhen, says the player’s management will “reserve the right to take legal action” against Napoli over a TikTok video that appeared to be mocking his recent performance.

Osimhen has had a tough couple of days following Napoli’s goalless draw against Bologna in Serie A on Sunday.

The Nigerian lost a penalty kick and was seen in a video yelling at Rudi Garcia, Napoli’s manager, after he was substituted from the match.

The 24-year-old’s action ignited a fury of scrutiny from local Italian press.

In the wake of the controversy, a video that appeared to be mocking the Nigerian was uploaded on Napoli’s official TikTok page.

In the now-deleted video, a speedup version of his penalty miss against Bologna was mashed with high-pitch baby audio sound. There was also an older video that referenced Osimhen’s head as a “coconut”.

The videos attracted the ire of Nigerians on X, some of whom called out the club for trolling the player.

Speaking on the incident, Calenda described the video uploaded on Napoli’s TikTok as “unacceptable”.

In a post on his X account, the agent said the clip can “cause very serious damage to the player”.

He added that the management may take legal action against the club or “any useful initiative to protect Victor”.

“What happened today on Napoli’s official profile on the TikTok platform is not acceptable,” the post reads.

“A video mocking Victor was first made public and then, but now belatedly, deleted. A serious fact that causes very serious damage to the player and adds to the treatment that the boy is suffering in the last period between media trials and fake news. We reserve the right to take legal action and any useful initiative to protect Victor.”

Osimhen joined The Parthenopeans in 202o. Last season, he led the club to its first Serie A title in 33 years while also finishing as the league’s highest goal scorer.
