Ahead of S’court verdict, police ban open jubilation in Kogi

The Kogi state police command has banned open jubilation and demonstration ahead of the supreme court verdict on the Kogi state governorship election.

The apex court will give its judgment on Tuesday.

At a press conference in Lokoja, the state capital, Abdullahi Chafe, the state commissioner of police, said intelligence reports reaching the command revealed that “some miscreants were planning to foment trouble” if the judgment goes contrary to their expectations.

The police commissioner said individuals or group of persons who cause break down of law and order, should be prepared to face the full wrath of the law.

He urged various political parties to call their members and supporters to order to allow peace reign

“Kogi state is greater than anybody. Police will not waist anytime in dealing with law breakers within the constitutional requirement,” he said.
