Air chief: Outcome of military operations against insurgents encouraging

Oladayo Amao, chief of air staff, says the results of military flight operations against insurgents have been positive.

According to a statement issued on Saturday by Edward Gabkwet, NAF spokesman, Amao spoke when he paid an operational visit to frontline troops of the 105 composite group in Maiduguri, and the 103 strike group in Yola.

The troops are among personnel of operation Hadin Kai — formerly known as operation Lafiya Dole — the codename for the military operation against Boko Haram.

During his visit, Amao was briefed by Nnamdi Ananaba, the operation’s air component commander, who gave a summary of the major achievements recorded by the air component towards defeating insurgents in Borno state, especially within the last 30 days.

The air chief expressed optimism that the security threats confronting the country would soon be a thing of the past.

He said NAF is working with other security agencies to eradicate all criminal elements and restore an environment of peace and security.

Amao appreciated the personnel for their commitment and dedication to duty, and charged them to continue to synergise their efforts with other security agencies within their location.
