Airtel launches 4G in Imo

Airtel Nigeria has modernised its network infrastructure in Owerri, the Imo state capital, launching its 4G services in the state.

In a statement on Wednesday, Segun Ogunsanya, chief executive officer, Airtel Nigeria, said the company is “committed to empowering individuals, businesses, corporate organizations and governmental agencies through a reliable and modernised mobile Internet network”.

Ogunsanya, who was represented by Emeka Oparah, Airtel’s director of corporate communications and corporate social responsibility, said with the 4G launch, the company is using technology to “connect people to their dreams”.

“The launch of 4G in Owerri serves as a glowing testimony of our commitment to partner and empower the good people of Imo State,” he said.

“4G comes with tons of benefits: it will accelerate economic and commercial activities; it will boost personal and professional productivity.

“It will offer the youth a big leverage to express their creativity and talent; it will improve the overall quality of life and connect more people to their dreams. With 4G, Airtel will power people, businesses and aid governance through technology.”

Also speaking at the event, Dapo Dosunmu, regional operations director, Airtel Nigeria, south region, thanked customers across the state, assuring them that the company is “committed to its vision of deepening broadband penetration.”

The launch, which held at the Immaculate Royal International Hotel, Owerri, was attended by telecoms consumers, corporate elites across the state and top government functionaries.
