Airtel Touching Lives TV series to empower less-privileged

Leading telecoms operator, Airtel Nigeria, has held a premiere to unveil the Airtel Touching Lives, a television series and revolutionary corporate social responsibility intervention focused on empowering underprivileged individuals, communities and groups in the society.

The premiere, an emotion-evoking event, brought to limelight the commitment and kind-heartedness of Airtel in uplifting underprivileged people across Nigeria through its CSR interventions.

Speaking at the event, Segun Ogunsanya, the managing director and chief executive officer of Airtel, described the initiative as a philanthropic gesture of the telco to connect emotionally with Nigerians and alleviate the suffering of helpless people across the country.

“This, without a doubt, underscores our determination to enrich lives and contribute to humanity. And the premiere tonight marks the beginning of a new journey in providing empowerment and a major lifeline for thousands of Nigerians,” he said.

For us, it is a commitment to connect with millions of Nigerians, alleviate their suffering and bring smile to their faces.”

The event, which held at Oriental Hotel, Lagos, was graced by top government functionaries, captains of industries, royal fathers, NGOs, media partners, and other distinguished guest from all walks of life, such as Otunba Titilayo Laoye-Tomori, deputy governor of the Osun state; Jeffrey Hawkins,United States consul general in Nigeria; Mrs. Olufunsho Amosun, first lady of Ogun state; Alfa Belgore, a retired justice and chairman of Airtel Nigeria; and Rilwan Akiolu, Oba of Lagos.
