Lost, a television commercial which Airtel Nigeria launched in 2016, has won gold at the 2017 Epica awards in France.

It tells the story of a man (played by Gabriel Afolayan) stranded on an island- portraying how life without reliable mobile Internet and data services would be for digital natives.

The commercial, which came tops in the business and public service category, is the first to be won by a Nigerian brand.

In a statement, Ahmad Mokhles, chief commercial officer, Airtel Nigeria, said the commercial “drew on the use of metaphor and representation to deliver meaning with the aim of connecting with their audience”.
