Aisha Aminu: Kogi stakeholders reiterate commitment to justice over killing of PWD

The Kogi-central persons with disabilities (PWDs) association recently held a meeting to provide updates on the murder of Aisha Aminu, a woman who was living with disability. 

The meeting agenda was titled ‘The Death of Aisha Aminu: Progress made and Future Course of Action’.

The gathering brought together different participants concerned with the rights of PWDs.

During the meeting, participants gave updates, expressed concerns and promised to seek justice for Aminu.

In his opening remarks, Yakubu Nasir Abdulhakeem, chairman of the association, said he was sore displeased over the incident.

He said the disability community was traumatised by the dastardly act and reiterated their call for justice.

A security officer gave an update on the arrest of the person allegedly responsible for the murder.

His information reassured the participants on the readiness of the security agencies to secure the community.

Lois Auta, the chief executive officer (CEO) of the Network for Women with Disabilities, said her organisation is ready to support Aminu’s children.

Auta also said her organisation will use available resources and influence to ensure that justice is served.
