Aisha Yesufu, co-convener of the Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) movement, and Enyinnaya Abaribe, the senate’s minority leader, will discuss women’s participation in governance and development at ‘Nkata’, a virtual conference.
The event, powered by Nkata Ndi Inyom Igbo (NNII), a socio-cultural group and think-tank for Igbo women, will hold via Zoom on August 21 by 12 noon.
“Enhancing Women’s Participation and Partnership in Governance and Development” will be the theme of the virtual conference.
In a statement shared with TheCable by NNII, Nnedinso Ogaziechi, the group’s spokesperson, said, “the event would be in three sessions over a few hours”.

She then added that “a few other panelists would be discussing the various issues that are dear to the women as equal stakeholders in national development”.
Other speakers and panellists for the event include Bart Nnaji, former minister of power; Regina Amadi-Njoku, former assistant secretary-general of United Nations; Taiwo Ajai-Lycett, veteran actress; Angelbert Chikere, poet and writer.
Others are Obianuju Kanu Ogoko, an IT specialist; Onyeka Akpaida, a financial service professional; Dike Chukwumerije, a spoken word poet, as well as Stella Iwuagwu and Sussie Ayam-Okoro, public health specialists.
