Rasheedat Ajibade scored twice to lead the Super Falcons to a 2-0 win over the Algerian women national team in the first leg of their international friendly encounter at Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne on Saturday.
Ajibade, the team captain, scored both goals in the first half against the Algerian ladies who paraded a strong squad.
It was also a star-studded presence for the Falcons, with Chiama Nnadozie in goal, Oluwatosin Demehin in defence, and the duo of Gift Monday and Ajibade leading upfront.
Folashade Ijamilusi, last season’s highest goalscorer in the Nigerian women’s football league also joined the attack.

It was a dominant display from the Falcons but they patiently waited for the opener which duly came on 21 minutes.
Ajibade ran onto a ball over the top from deep to lift a sublime finish over Amel Salah, the Algerian keeper, to put the Super Falcons in the lead.
The second goal was also a beauty, with the Atletico Madrid forward collecting a pass before lashing a long-range strike into the top corner from over 25 yards out, putting Nigeria 2-0 up at the interval.
