Ajimobi loses senate bid, Akpabio’s return unlikely

Abiola Ajimobi, governor of Oyo state, has lost his bid to represent Oyo south senatorial district to Kola Balogun of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The governor, who ran on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) polled 92,579 votes  while the winner secured 105,720 votes..

The PDP candidate cwon in Ibadan north, Ibadan north-west, Ibadan south-east, Ibadan north-east, Ibarapa north and Ibarapa east and while Ajimobi won in Ibarapa central, Ibadan south-west and Ido local government areas.

In Akwa Ibom, Godswill Akpabio, senator representing Akwa Ibom north-west, has lost in nine of 10 local government areas.

  1. Interesting! How are the mightiesadimula fallen!! Godswill Akpabio, Saraki AND NOW Ajimobi!!! This is a major victory for democracy. Long live Nigerian electorate for demonstrating that small group can dominate for a while, but not for long.
