Akinwumi Adesina, president of the African Development Bank (AfDB), has described Hillary Clinton, former United States secretary of state, as the best female president US never had.
He made this known in a tweet on Thursday after meeting with Clinton a day before at the forum on gender equality in Paris, France.
Adesina commended the former US presidential candidate for raising standards above people’s expectations.
“It was great to meet with Hillary Clinton at Forum on Gender Equality in Paris yesterday. The best female President the U.S never had. You did more than break the glass ceiling. You broke the ceiling made of concrete and iron,” he tweeted.

Clinton had contested the 2016 US presidential election under the Democratic party.
She was endorsed by reputable personalities, including former US President Barrack Obama.
Clinton lost the polls to her Republican rival, former US President Donald Trump, who secured more than the 270 electoral votes needed to win.
Trump was able to get 290 electoral college votes as against Clinton who scored 232.

If she had won, Clinton would have emerged as the first female president of the US.
Despite losing the election, Clinton has maintained that she will continue to be a strong advocate for women in US politics.
