Women across the 31 local government areas of Akwa Ibom state have declared support for Onofiok Luke, speaker of the house of assembly.
Led by Glory Edet, commissioner for women affairs, the women clad in black attire, held a protest in the state on Wednesday.
They wielded placards with inscriptions such as MUSA MUST GO; WE NEED PEACE IN AKS ; LUKE IS THE AUTHENTIC SPEAKER!
They accused the police of partisanship in the crisis rocking the state house of assembly.

Meanwhile, a high court sitting in Uyo has granted an order of interim injunction restraining Nse Ntuen from parading himself as the speaker of the Akwa Ibom state assembly pending the determination of motion on notice filed by Ekemini Udim Esq, counsel to Onofiok Luke.
The ruling was delivered by Ekaete Obot, a judge Obot ordered that the injunction be served on Ntuen in person and also be pasted on every conspicuous part of the assembly complex to forestall breakdown of law by the All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmakers.
Ntuen and Luke have been laying claim to the leadership of the house.
