The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, on Tuesday congratulated the new executive council of the Oyo State Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ).
The monarch, in a letter addressed to the newly elected Chapel Chairman, Mr Ola Ajayi , pledged the support of the traditional institution to the new leadership of the chapel.
The monarch pledged that the cordial relationship existing between the traditional institution and the chapel would be sustained.
“As the newly elected chairman of the chapel, I have no doubt in my mind that you will excel in your new office and with a confident assurance that you will take the chapel to greater heights.

“This is according to your promise in your acceptance speech as the chairman of the chapel.
“It is my fervent wish and prayer that the Almighty Allah will grant you all the strength to pilot the affairs of the distinguished chapel creditably in the next three years,” the monarch said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the chapel had its election on April 7.

The election ushered in a new set of executives that would run the affairs of the chapel for the next three years.Those who were also newly elected included Waheed Adebayo of Leadership Newspaper (Vice-Chairman), Boye Ajayi of NAN (Secretary) and Yinka Adeniran of Newswatch Magazine (Assistant Secretary).
Others are Akeem Abass of NAN (Treasurer), Jide Jegede of Witness Nigeria online (Financial Secretary) and Olawale Ajao of Alaroye Newspapers (Auditor)
