Alampasu: I’m not bitter about Super Eagles snub

Dele Alampasu, the Super Eagles reserve goalkeeper, says he does not feel bad about not being invited for the team’s games against Egypt.

The FC Feirense of Portugal player told TheCable that he will look forward to being invited for future Eagles games.

“Well, what can I say? The coaches always have the final say on who and who to invite for any game. Not getting an invitation for the Egypt game does not mean I won’t be invited for some other games in the future,” he said.

“I know that the coaches have done their home work well before inviting the players they did for the crucial game against Egypt.

“All the coaches in the Super Eagles I have worked with them from my U-17 days to the U-20, U-23 as well as the Super Eagles. They know what I am capable of.”

Alampasu, who won the FIFA U17 World Cup in 2013, said he is confident the caretaker coaches will succeed.

“They are very good in their job. I know that they will deliver on the task given to them to see that Nigeria get the maximum points against Egypt. I have that full confidence in them,” he said.

“I will just appeal to the Nigerian fans to support them with prayers so that they can win and give us hope of going to AFCON 2017 in Gabon.”
