Spain's Carlos Alcaraz with his second consecutive Wimbledon title

Carlos Alcaraz has defeated Novak Djokovic to win a back-to-back Wimbledon men’s singles title.
Alcaraz eased past a surprisingly subpar Djokovic to retain his crown at the All England Lawn Tennis Club, London, on Sunday.
The 21-year-old Spaniard dominated with serve and longer rallies and dusted the Serbs in three straight sets.
The match was starkly different from the previous Wimbledon final, where Alcaraz had to come from behind to defeat the veteran.
This time, he took the first two sets with shocking ease, ending in identical 6-2.
The third set proved trickier and was decided by a tie-breaker, which ended 7-6 in favour of the Spaniard.
The victory earned Alcaraz his fourth Grand Slam title.
He became the ninth man in the Open Era to retain the Wimbledon title. He is also the sixth man in the Open Era to win Roland Garros and Wimbledon in the same year.
As the 2024 Wimbledon champion, Alcaraz will go home with prize money of £2,700,00.
Djokovic’s attempt to equal Roger Federer’s record of eight Wimbledon men’s titles was halted for another year.
The 24-time major winner was also trying to surpass Margaret Court and clear on the log for the record for the most Grand Slam singles titles.
