Alex Ferguson out of intensive care

Retired former Manchester United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson is out of intensive care after having brain surgery over the weekend.

The Red Devils’ most successful manager had a successful brain haemorrhage surgery on Saturday, and the 19-times EPL winners announced earlier on twitter that Sir Alex does not need further intensive care.

“Sir Alex no longer needs intensive care and will continue rehabilitation as an in-patient,” the statement started.

The football world has been awash with well wishes for the 76-year old retired Scotsman, led by his former players, including Rooney and Carrick, and United have expressed their gratitude for the goodwill messages, while asking for continued privacy from the public.

“His family have been overwhelmed by the level of support and good wishes but continue to request privacy as this will be vital during this next stage of recovery,” concluded the club statement.

Ferguson, who became United manager in November 1986, secured a famous treble in 1999, and won 13 EPL titles, was last seen presenting a farewell gift to his retiring old adversary, Arsene Wenger at Old Trafford.
