Alhaji Lai does not lie

I remember how chaotic and messy Nigeria was before President Buhari convincingly won the presidential election that finally retired Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and his wife to Otuoke. Nigeria was just a step away from becoming a failed state. We cannot thank PMB enough for accepting to lead us as a nation at this time. If baba had not won in 2015, Nigeria would have become a failed state!

On the watch of President Jonathan, terrorism was a huge problem. In those days, we could not sleep with our eyes closed. Terrorists were having a field day under the leadership of President Jonathan. In fact, they went as far as bombing the United Nations building in Abuja. It was a national embarrassment.

As if that was not enough, on the night of 14-15 of April, 2014, two hundred and seventy-six (276) mostly Christian female students were kidnapped from the secondary School in the town of Chibok in Borno State. Responsibility for the kidnappings was claimed by Boko Haram, a terrorist organization based in Northern Nigeria. Fifty-seven (57) of the school girls were rescued by the NA the next few months and some have described their capture in appearances at International Human Rights Conferences.

In May 2016, one of the missing girls, Amina Ali was found. She claimed that the remaining girls were still there. Till now, only about 164 of the missing girls have returned to the loving grip of their parents. Six of them have died. Others are nowhere to be found. This was our lot before Buhari took over. And we are so grateful he took over power from a very frail and uninspiring leader like his predecessor.

Since Buhari came to power, he has not been as weak and frail as GEJ. Unlike his predecessor, he is absolutely in-charge of his government. In six months as he promised, he was able to solve the problem of terrorism. No one female student has been kidnapped on baba’s watch. Our people are no longer being kidnapped. Kaduna-Abuja highway is the safest in the country today. And all our IDP camps have finally disappeared!

Alhaji Lai said and I quote: “President Buhari came into office at a time that a swathe of the country’s territory was under occupation, a period when many Nigerian towns and cities, including the capital city of Abuja, were a playground for insurgents and a moment that the nation’s wealth had been looted dry, with little or nothing to show for the nation’s huge earnings, especially in the area of infrastructure.” Today, looting has stopped. And Nigeria is no longer a playground for terrorists. I wonder why the governor of Borno has been consistently complaining in recent times about insecurity. I guess he needs to be updated that baba has wiped off terrorism from Nigeria. Like Alhaji Lai Mohammed said, baba has truly saved Nigeria from becoming a failed state.

We were complaining and wailing as a baby who was in want of toys; because Dr. Goodluck hardly talked to those he was in power to serve. This was one of the reasons the whole nation massively voted him out of Aso Rock. Now that baba is in power, we are even tired of him talking to us. He holds town hall meetings with us almost every-day. He is always in our faces like all the Presidents of developed countries, who treated their people as human beings. For the umpteenth time, GEJ was not a speaking President, but since Buhari took over power, that has become history. Like Alhaji Lai said, we cannot thank baba enough for accepting to serve as our President at their crucial time. PMB has succeeded in redefining leadership in Nigeria!

Under the leadership of Obasanjo, Yar’ Adua and GEJ, hunger was a huge problem in the land as an effect of scarcity of food and poverty. And you know that any nation that cannot sufficiently feed her people is usually dubbed a failed nation. Today, on the watch of baba, not a grain of maize has been imported into Nigeria. We can now sufficiently feed our people and we are now exporting food to foreign lands! Also, our people are no longer living on less than two (2) dollars a day. Like Alhaji Lai said, if PMB hadn’t become our President, we would have become a failed nation.

Most of our people were jobless when GEJ held sway. It was a huge concern for us as a nation. While baba and his political party were campaigning, Nigerians were promised three thousand (3000) jobs annually and we are so grateful that since PMB came to power, the number of jobs in the country is even more than the number of our people. Generations unborn will forever be grateful to Buhari for saving us from becoming a failed nation.

The power outage was nothing to write home about when GEJ was in power. In fact, we were told that the only person stopping us from having a constant supply of electricity was Goodluck and over the years, we have found out that it is true. Now that Jonathan is no longer in power, under President Buhari, Nigerians are now enjoying constant supply of electricity. We have never had it this good as a nation. You know any country that cannot provide electric power supply for its people is termed a failed state. The second coming of Buhari has saved us from becoming a failed state.

Lai Mohammed said and I quote, “President Muhammadu Buhari’s assumption of office in 2015 prevented Nigeria from becoming a failed state, after a long stretch of rapacious and rudderless leadership.” Today, it is a different ball game. The leadership that baba is providing is no longer rudderless like that of GEJ. The citizens of Nigeria may not know where we are going as a nation, but once President Buhari and his political party members know where we are going, it is up to scratch. At least, the same thing is happening in other climes where they are fortunate to have a President like ours.

As I coast home, Alhaji Lai Mohammed said that “naysayers are hyping the instances of insecurity in the country.” Each time people are either killed or kidnapped by bandits, terrorists and Fulani herdsmen and the affected people are screaming, crying and wailing on it, naysayers are the ones hyping the instances of terrorism in the country. Without naysayers, when people are either killed or kidnapped, there should be a sound of joy from everywhere. I hereby warn every naysayer to be-real-careful.

Lastly, any past or present national leader who comes out to say that Nigeria is now terribly divided under Buhari is not being sincere. We have never been this one as a people. Buhari has been able to bring all of us together. When the history of this day and time is being spread before generations unborn, they will get to know Buhari as the father of the modern-day Nigeria. He is not a Northern President, he’s a national President. Alhaji said Buhari has prevented us from becoming a failed nation and I agree with him because Lai he does not lie.
