Hyacinth Alia, governor of Benue, has sought development partnerships with the Korean government in key sectors of the state.
Tersoo Kula, chief press secretary to the governor, said in a statement on Thursday that Alia discussed the potential collaborations in a meeting with Kim Pankyu, the South Korean ambassador to Nigeria.
During the meeting, which was held on Tuesday at the Korean embassy in Abuja, the governor said education, agriculture, technology, renewable energy, and infrastructure are sectors that need improvement in the state.
Alia also said there is a need for the state’s workforce to enrol in training programmes that would equip them with South Korean expertise for skills and knowledge transfer.

Kula said the South Korean ambassador to Nigeria expressed happiness over the prospects of collaborating with Benue.
He quoted him as saying the areas highlighted by the governor aligned with the Korean government’s planned support for Nigeria.
The governor’s media aide said Pankyu promised to reciprocate the governor’s visit as soon as possible.

He added that both parties exchanged cultural ideas and technical inputs while reiterating their commitments to enhance cooperation and partnership for mutual benefits.
