All set for birth of the next British Royal baby

The British press is giddy as they await the birth of the next royal baby and second child of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Princess Catherine.

Many reports confirm that Princess Kate is already several days beyond her due date and might have to undergo induced labour if she becomes too uncomfortable to wait a while longer.

The private Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital in London where Kate is due to give birth has already been shut down and the polls are in on what the royal baby’s name should be.

In a poll sponsored by the Sunday Times, 12 percent of Brits prefer that the next royal baby should be named after the late princess Diana if it’s a girl and James if it’s a boy. But most Brits are hoping for a girl this time around.

The announcement of a royal baby is also going to be moving with the times with a touch of modernity. The baby’s birth will be announced first on Twitter via the Monarchy’s official accounts before it is posted the traditional way on an easel in front of Buckingham Palace.

British monarchy announced that the world’s most popular royal couple were expecting their second child last September after rumours of her pregnancy swelled for months. The press latched on when the princess was admitted to the hospital after recurrence of severe morning sickness similar to her first pregnancy.

Doctors diagnosed the Duchess with hyperemesis gravidarum – a rare condition which causes severe vomiting during pregnancy.

The marriage of Princess Kate and Prince William in April 2011 was a global event. Their first son Prince George was born July 22, 2013, and is third in line to the British throne behind his grandfather Prince Charles and his dad, Prince William.
