The 1985/1991 set of Olivet Baptist High School (OBHS), Oyo state, has renovated the music studio of the school.
Adekunle Ogunmola, president of OBHS National Old Students’ Association, said this was done in line with the call of the state government for public-private partnership in the education sectorr.
Ogunmola, who is the current south-west commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), said OBHS will stop at nothing to give the school a facelift.
“A lot of knowledge sharing will take place as a result of this project. In some years to come, more students will show interest in music,” he said.

He tasked the alumni to “look beyond structural renovation of buildings, but to compliment government’s efforts by providing palliative care for the teachers.”
Ogunmola made it known that the state government alone cannot solve the problem confronting the sector.
Folagbade Diran, alumni class president, promised that the set will equip the studio with necessary gadgets to enable the students make the best use of the facility.

He also disclosed that the success recorded was made possible through prudent and frugal use of the funds raised by the association.
Onike Rahaman, secretary of the set, said he was proud of his colleagues.
He added that the event afforded everyone the pleasure of seeing “those we have seen for long”
“This is the fact that all of us are doing well. I am looking forward to more of this, in the nearest future,” he said.

Adeniyi Olowofela, the state education commissioner, said all over the world, the business of education had always been a joint collaboration of government and the private sector.
He commended the association and assured its members that the current administration sees education as a priority.
