Amara Nwankpa
Amara Nwankpa has been appointed acting director-general (DG) of the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Foundation.
The foundation announced Nwankpa’s appointment in a statement on Wednesday.
Jacqueline Farris, the outgoing director-general and active member of the board of directors, said Nwankpa brings over 12 years of experience in climate policy, elections, governance, and accountability to his new role.
Farris expressed her gratitude in serving the foundation since its inception, and pledged her continuous support to promoting national unity, good governance, and social justice in Nigeria.

“The board of directors of the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Amara Nwankpa as acting director-general, effective April 1, 2025,” the statement reads.
“Mr. Nwankpa is an experienced civic technology and public policy expert committed to context-specific, evidence-based policy development that aligns with the complex social, political, and institutional dynamics shaping governance on the continent.
“He has over 12 years experience in leading, developing, and contributing to public policy on climate, elections, energy, security, governance, and accountability in Africa.”

Nwankpa served as the director of partnerships and development at the foundation from 2014 to 2024, where he led policy initiative.
He is an experienced civic technology and public policy expert, who was instrumental in driving the foundation’s strategic growth.
