Amber energy drink launches free bus ride promo for Lagos commuters

Amber Energy Drink, a subsidiary of Amber Drinks Limited, has launched a free bus ride promo, ‘Ride with Amber’, for Lagos state commuters.

In a statement on Monday, the company said the promo is targeted at providing relief for Lagos commuters on some routes through its Amber BRT and conventional free bus ride initiative.

To benefit from the free rides, the company said commuters must buy a can of the drink at BRT bus terminals or yellow buses garages and in turn, get a BRT ticket for free.

“The can is the automatic passport that gives commuters the free access entrance into the BRT buses or yellow buses depending on the destination which is open between 4pm-6pm from Mondays-Fridays,” the statement read.

It said the promo will run till September 2020.

“We have taken our time not just to study the market but also who our consumers are and what they will need, and have decided that at every step on the way, Amber will meet the needs of its consumers, so, it is so much fun and many wonders are still coming from the Amber Energy world!”

Opeyemi Ojulari, a civil servant who boarded a bus at the Oyingbo terminal, said: “Commuting within Lagos metropolis has never been this fun, rich and exciting”; adding that the Amber Energy drink BRT bus ride activation has changed the face of social life at bus terminals from the monotonous and sometimes awful long wait on long queues to buy tickets and board the buses.

Speaking in a similar vein, Sola Ijatuyi, a businesswoman, said that she deliberately dropped her car at home to experience the free bus ride.

Ijatuyi said she “gets double value for her money as the drink has become her favourite brand for stimulating her energy after tasting it on two previous occasions on the same route”.
