Ambode appoints Fashola’s cousin as perm sec

Akinwunmi Ambode, governor of Lagos state, has approved the appointment of Taofik Fashola, cousin of Babatunde Fashola, the immediate past governor of the state, as the permanent secretary of the audit service commission.

Tunde Ogunleye and Fola Padonu were also appointed as permanent secretaries of the ministries of finance and wealth creation and employment.

Tunji Bello, secretary to the state government, confirmed the appointments on Monday.

Bello said it was in line with the ongoing restructuring of the state public service “for optimal, effective and efficient service delivery”.

Until his appointment was director, admin and human resource at the ministry of energy and mineral resources.

Ogunleye was formerly a director of accounts in the ministry of works and infrastructure Padonu was a director in the ministry of planning.

The statement also said seven permanent secretaries were redeployed.

They are Folusho Dipe, from ministry of physical planning and urban development to housing; Folashade Ogunnaike, from cabinet office to ministry of establishment and training; Omobolanle Ogunmola from ministry of establishment to civil service pensions office.

Others are: James Odupitan, from audit service commission to cabinet office; Boladele Dapo-Thomas, from ministry of women affairs and poverty alleviation to ministry of physical planning and urban development and Olanike Oduwole, from ministry of wealth creation to ministry of women affairs and poverty alleviation.
