Ayodeji Tinubu, special adviser to Lagos state governor Akinwunmi Ambode, died on Thursday evening.
Tinubu slumped and died while taking part in a football match at the ongoing cabinet retreat organised by the state government for members of its executive council.
He was rushed to the Epe General Hospital after he slumped. He was later confirmed dead.
Tinubu was the former chairman of the Lagos state sports commission and a former board member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

He was recently appointed a special adviser on commerce to the governor.
The deceased is the brother of Wale Tinubu, chief executive officer of Oando.
