Sammy Ameobi is looking forward to another Newcastle United win this time against Manchester City in Wednesday’s Capital One Cup clash.
Ameobi came off the bench at half-time and scored within six seconds to kick-start a second half revival for the Magpies which saw them defeat Tottenham 2-1 at White Hart Lane on Sunday.
This time, Newcastle travel to the Etihad and Ameobi is optimistic his team can claim a major cup upset by knocking out the holders, City.
“We are going to take confidence from this, hopefully we can take that to Manchester City and anything is possible if we go out with the right attitude. We are looking forward to it,” Ameobi said.

The win at the Lane means the Magpies have won back-to-back games for the first time since December 2013 and Ameobi believes the unity amongst the squad has helped turn their poor form around.
“It was always going to be a tough game coming to White Hart Lane to play a Tottenham team that has been playing well and we’ve had to fight through,” he said.
“It was a tough first half and the manager just said we had to give it our all, and we did that and we are really happy with the result.

“We knew we were under the cosh a little after a poor start to the season, we have had to stick together and fight and we’ve done that and we’ve ended up with two wins from two games – hopefully we can kick on now.”
