Daniel Amokachi, former Super Eagles player, took charge of his first training session on Monday following his appointment as the new technical adviser of Lobi Stars, the Nigerian Professional League (NPFL) side.
Amokachi’s appointment was announced via the club’s X page on Sunday evening.
His appointment came on the back of the dismissal of Eugene Agagbe following the Makurdi-based side’s poor start to the new NPFL season.
The former NPFL champions also shared pictures on social media of Amokachi delivering instruction to the team.

“Amokachi, who spoke with the media promised to give 120% to the team. He promised to improve the results of the team.
“Welcome Amo!”
Amokachi was also seen in conversation with his newly assembled technical team during the training session at the McCarthy Stadium, Makurdi.

This is not the first time the 51-year-old would take over at an NPFL club, with previous experience with Nasarawa United, Enyimba and FC Ifeanyi Ubah.
He is also the third former Super Eagles player in the famed class of ’94 currently coaching an NPFL side, following in the footsteps of Finidi George, Rivers United coach, and Emmanuel Amunike, Heartland FC tactician.
Amokachi’s first match as Lobi Stars coach is this weekend’s highly anticipated North Central derby against Niger Tornadoes.
