Adetunji Adeleye, the Ondo state commander of the south-west security network code-named Amotekun, says operatives of the outfit arrested three suspected kidnappers and 19 criminals within 14 days in 18 LGAs of the state.
Adeleye spoke in Akure, the state capital, on Tuesday while parading the suspects.
He said the 19 other suspects were arrested for offences such as robbery, stealing, housebreaking, and motorcycle theft.
The Amotekun commander urged residents to ensure that their second-hand products have the relevant receipts to avoid buying stolen items.

He stated that the command had deployed 1,200 personnel across the 18 LGAs of the state.
He added that the command in collaboration with other security agencies had mapped out strategies to ensure that the influx of visitors did not increase the crime rate in the state.
Adeleye also advised members of the public to be wary of visitors allowed into their privacy.
“We will continue to work around the clock to ensure the safety of lives and property during this yuletide period,” he added.

“What you will observe in a couple of days from now is the presence of Amotekun men at strategic locations and black spots everywhere within the 18 local governments.
“This will no doubt curtail the excesses of these criminals.”
