Amuneke ready for ‘dogfight’ against Chile

Golden Eaglets coach, Emmanuel Amuneke, has told his players to expect a dogfight against Chile in their second match at the FIFA U-17 World Cup.

The defending champions defeated USA 2-0 in their opening match and will now take on the host at the Sausalito Stadium in Vina del Mar on Tuesday.

On Monday, the Golden Eaglets trained at the Enap Oil Company Training Centre in Con-Con district of the city where all the 21 players were involved in the match build-up.

And Amuneke told his players what to expect from the encounter.

“Tomorrow’s match against Chile is a crucial game and you must expect a dogfight,” he said.

“But we must approach the match with discipline and responsibility; we must be ready to fight for 90 minutes.”

FIFA have named officials for the match with Frenchman Ruddy Buquet as the centre referee. Others listed for the game include Buquet’s compatriots Guillaume Debart and Gringore Cyril as assistant referees while the fourth official is Abdulrahman Al-Jassim of Qatar.

The Group A matches at Estadio Sausalito in Vina del Mar would start at 5:00 pm local time (9:00 pm in Nigeria) between USA and Croatia while Nigeria’s Eaglets face Chile at8:00 pm local time (12:00 midnight in Nigeria) on Tuesday.
