Golden Eaglets’ coach, Emmanuel Amuneke, has described as a welcome development the proposed friendly games with Nigerian youngsters from the Diaspora.
The self-styled ‘Soaring Eaglets’ made up of players from United Kingdom, Europe, USA, and Canada will play two matches with the reigning world champions, the Golden Eaglets, on July 29 and 30 at the Abuja National Stadium.
And Amuneke said some of the players could gate-crash his Chile World Cup-bound team.
“We are happy that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has approved these matches for us since it would offer us the opportunity at looking at Nigerian youths from outside,” Amuneke told thenff.com.

“We have a clear idea of the kind of players we want for the World Cup. We would be delighted to get quality players from the boys coming from outside.”
The Golden Eaglets secured a ticket to the FIFA U-17 World Cup after coming fourth at the African U-17 Championship in the Niger Republic in February.
They would represent the continent alongside Guinea, Mali and South Africa in the tournament scheduled for October 17 to November 8 in Chile.
