Yakubu Gowon, a former head of state, has congratulated Kayode Fayemi, former governor of Ekiti state, on his 60th birthday.
Speaking at Fayemi’s birthday lecture on Thursday in Abuja, Gowon said the ideals and vision of the former minister of steel development is a testament to his commitment to the welfare of Nigerians.
He said Fayemi is an embodiment of perseverance, hard work, and dedication, adding that the former governor has been of positive service to Nigeria.
“As a statesman who has witnessed Nigeria’s journey through various phases, I am delighted to see a new generation of leaders like Dr. Fayemi and his dear wife, who embody the values of integrity, compassion, and selfless service,” he said.

Gowon said Fayemi deserves congratulations on his milestone birthday and the launch of the Amandla Institute for Policy and Leadership Advancement.
