The Anambra government has demolished the Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention and Deliverance Ministry, a church belonging to Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, an Onitsha-based cleric better known as Odumeje.
The church was said to have been marked by the Anambra state physical planning board (ANSPPB) over “obstruction and blockage of free flow of water at the Nwangele-Bida drainage”.
The exercise, which is being carried out by a joint government task force, commenced from Bida road by Modebe avenue, Fegge, Onitsha.
Other buildings, shops and perimeter fences were also affected.

According to the Anambra government, the structures were marked since April 2022 and all developers and building owners were served notice to remove such illegal structures.
Viral footage on social media, on Thursday, also shows the moment armed taskforce officials manhandled and slapped Odumeje severally for allegedly attempting to stop the demolition exercise.
Odumeje is known for his controversial opinions and the style of miracles he performs at his church.

In October 2021, he predicted that the November 6 governorship election in Anambra state will not take place.
In a Facebook video shared on October 29, 2021, by the Holy Ghost Intervention TV, Odumeje had said he has been praying, but instead of the election taking place, what he saw was death and bloodshed.
However, the election did take place and a few instances of violence were recorded. Also, nobody was reported to have died during the main and supplementary polls.
