The Anambra State Disability Rights Commission (ASDRC) has donated cane guards to visually impaired persons in the state.

Chuks Ezewuzie, chairman of the commission, gave the white canes to visually impaired persons at St. Patrick Cathedral Hall, at an event to commemorate the 2023 White Cane Awareness Day.

He said government is committed to providing a prosperous environment that is accessible to people with disabilities (PWDs) in the state.

He acknowledged the presence of Nonye Soludo, wife of Charles Soludo, the governor of the state, who celebrated the day with some of the state’s visually impaired people, and thanked the governor for budgeting funds for this year’s celebration.
