The All Progressives Congress (APC) screening committee for the Anambra governorship election has cleared all seven aspirants to contest in the party’s forthcoming primary election.
The primary election will be conducted on April 5.
Ibrahim Shehu Shema, the former governor of Katsina state, chaired the screening committee.
The aspirants cleared by the committee include Nicholas Ukachukwu, a former member of the house of representatives and Valentine Ozigbo, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the 2021 governorship election.

Others are Paul Chukwuma, Obiora Okonkwo, Chukwuma Umeoji, Johnbosco Onunkwo and Edozie Madu.
“Accordingly, the party has issued certificates of clearance to the aspirants, today, at the national secretariat in Abuja,” Felix Morka, national publicity secretary of the APC, said in a statement on Monday.
“One of the cleared aspirants, Valentine Chineto Ozigbo, has been granted a waiver by the party to contest the primary election.

“All members of the party, including new and old members, in Anambra state, are required to revalidate their membership as prescribed by the Party, ahead of the scheduled primary election.”
