Aderemi Adeoye, the commissioner of police in Anambra, has visited officers injured during a raid carried out against members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
On August 1, the joint force of the troops of the 82 division of the Nigerian army, police and operatives of other security agencies, arrested five members of IPOB during a raid on the hideouts of the terrorist group in Anambra.
Onyema Nwachukwu, the army spokesperson, had said five soldiers and two police officers sustained bullet wounds during the encounter with members of the group.
In a statement on Wednesday, Tochukwu Ikenga, the command’s spokesperson, said the commissioner of police promised that the injured officers would not be abandoned.
