The Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN), a newly registered political party, says it did not get registered just for the sake of scaling up the numbers of political parties in the country.
The party, which collected its certificates from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Wednesday, said it plans to galvanise Nigerians towards re-writing the nation’s political history.
Speaking with reporters at its national secretariat in Abuja, Jay Samuels, ANN interim national coordinator, said the party would spread a message of hope to Nigerians.
He added that the party’s registration marked a milestone.

“For us, the work has only just begun. We shall be spreading the ANN message of hope for a new Nigeria to the nooks and crannies of this country,” Samuels said.
“We will intensify our membership drive as we intend to surpass our baseline target of 10 million registered members by October 2018.
“Starting from this month, we will be activating all our state secretariat in the 36 states and FCT as well as the 774 LGAs and wards.

“We are going to continue to create awareness about our party as the only true and credible alternative for emergence of good governance in Nigeria.
“We are fully committed to engendering generational leadership change in the country as the current generation of leaders have clearly demonstrated that they lack the vision and capabilities to make one of the biggest economies in the world.”
He said the party would also be conducting its elective national convention in the first quarter of the year, where substantive national officers would be elected.
