The Nigeria police force has lost another officer who was involved in the raid on Ansaru militant group’s camp in Kaduna state.
AbdulMajeed Ali, deputy inspector-general of police (operation), disclosed this when he visited officers wounded in the raid in Kaduna on Friday.
He said the officer, whom he simply identified as Idris, died on Friday morning of wounds sustained during the mission.
Idris is the second policeman to have died from the operation. The police earlier announced the death of an inspector identified as Muhammed Abubakar.

Thirteen officers were wounded in the operation in which 250 militants were killed, according to Frank Mba, police spokesman.
Mba said among those killed were Haruna Basullube, “one of the most wanted kidnappers in Nigeria” as well as a “notorious” commander of the militants identified as Bashir Leta.
The police said while the onslaught would continue, a team of detectives and special forensic investigators have been deployed to expedite investigations into the “broad criminal enterprise” of Ansaru militants and their associates.
