Andy Ruiz Jr., unified world heavyweight champion, says Anthony Joshua, the Nigerian-British boxer, who he recently defeated, is not so good in the boxing ring and declared that he would also win the rematch easily.

Ruiz, 29, made these assertions on his return to the United States from his paternal country, Mexico, where he showed off his WBO, WBA and IBF titles he surprisingly won three weeks ago via a seventh-round knockout at the Madison Square Garden.

The fight contract has a rematch clause which has been triggered by the Joshua camp, with the fight date- later in the year- and other commercial interests yet to be agreed upon, but California-born Ruiz is already talking tough.

“The match is going to be the same, I am going to be more prepared and more ready,” Ruiz boasted.

Joshua, 30, suffered his first loss as a professional fighter to Ruiz who floored him four times in the ill-fated bout on June 1, and his supposed boxing skills are being questioned by the Mexican who was only a late replacement for the fight but was given no chance of winning by most people in the boxing world.

“I know his flaws. I can do better. The only thing he can do is just run around, he’s not good at boxing,” Ruiz boasted.

Andy Ruiz, who was ridiculed for his round physique before and after the bout, earned $7.7 million from fighting Joshua, and has become an overnight celebrity with motorcade parades in both Mexico and California.

He has also appeared on several US talk shows and his followership on social media platform, Instagram, has jumped from 60,000 to over 900,000 followers.
