APC: Buhari never promised anything in 100 days

Amid accusations of reneging on campaign promises, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has said that President Muhammadu Buhari never promised “to do anything” in his first 100 days in office.

Lai Mohammed, APC spokesman, countered claims that Buhari made certain promises during the electioneering on Channels TV on Monday.

“Buhari never promised he was going to do anything in 100 days, that’s the honest truth,” he said.

“You see, when you’re running a campaign all kinds of literature will emerge with all sorts of volunteer groups, but I came here and I said there are only just two documents that you can judge a party with, that is the constitution of the party and the manifesto of the party; those are the only two documents that are registered with INEC you can go to court on or hold a party accountable for.”

Also, the presidency had earlier dismissed the claim that Buhari promised to make details of his assets public in 100 days, saying the idea did not emanate from the president.

At the weekend, Garba Shehu, presidential spokesman, disowned some documents containing a litany of promises the president reportedly vowed to fulfill in his first 100 days in office.

He added that the administration could not be judged by a series of “activities” within the prism of 100 days.

‎”In the course of electioneering, the presidential campaign had so many centers of public communication which, for whatever reason were on the loose,” he said.

“There is a certain document tagged ‘One Hundred Things Buhari Will Do in 100 Days’ and the other, ‘My Covenant With Nigerians.’ Both  pamphlets bore the authorized party logo but as the Director of Media and Communications in that campaign, I did not fund or authorize any of those. I can equally bet my last Kobo that Candidate Buhari did not see or authorize those publications.

“As a consequence of these publications, expectations have been raised unreasonably, that as President, Muhammadu Buhari will wave his hand and all the problems that the country faces- insecurity, corruption, unemployment, poor infrastructure would go away.‎”

  1. APC/PMB: You did not disown those so called publications then because they suited your agenda. Now all we get from you is persistent use of PDP as an excuse to cover your gross incompetence. We are not fooled. PDP left a mess; an ex-minister stole $6bn; Omokore’s firm refused to remit $4bn in Oil fees to government, blah, blah blah.
When will you stop distracting the masses and sit down to govern?
Has PDP/GEJ prevented you from naming any ministers?
Whose policies is PMB supervising Perm Secs to implement if not GEJ/PDP’s? Baba Sole Administrator.
Did GEJ/PDP compel you to threaten national cohesion by being so lop-sided in making appointments?
My Yoruba friends say ‘..ati owuro laatin-mo ojo…’ = ‘…it is from the morning that we know how the day will be…’
    1) Your first 100 days will pass without any significant achievement to show, not even the quick wins recommended by Joda committee. Your present press release and others to come are aimed at dampening expectations. How can you achieve anything significant without ministers, without policies? Haba this is not the change we voted fa!
    2) You have lost the goodwill of most detribalised Nigerians that voted you in. Your honeymoon is over
    3) You will not win SW in 2019, even if it means the zone rebelling against Tinubu and Baba Akande. Enough is Enough.
All power are in Allah’s hands

    1. Now,you are not a Yoruba man and you have concluded that Yoruba will rebel against their leaders, please face your region where you people voted religiously.

  2. The ibos warned nigerians about Buhari.Buhari has no plans for Nigeria,he merely wants to return power to the North. A desendant of Usman Danfodio, with an Islamic agenda. He is distracting our atention.with the word corruption. Enough is enough.

  3. How far now with that #50 petrol price reduction they promised us, and that lie on BBC about teknocrats ready to move the country forward.

  4. Excuse me! What is the noise all about? Did Buhari promise anyone anything, let alone in the so called 100 days? By golly, he neither offered nor promised Nigerians anything! You can’t give what you don’t have. Buhari has neither the competence nor qualification to rule a country like Nigeria in the 21st century! Thanks to a malicious press and well funded propaganda that targeted the vulnerable. Otherwise who in his right senses will compare a PHd holder with an s75 holder! Some of us saw it far off and screamed that the bridge was off! But the lot wanted ‘change’ come what may. We must brace up for another round of struggle. Implement the confab report! We can’t stand being ruled by someone who belongs to the dark ages!

  5. Who said he did not archive any thing in the first 100 days? O..o.no, he did.
    1. He removed police checkpoints on our roads.
    2. He marched his commanders to the war front and one of them escaped Boko haram ambush.
    3. Boko haram has evaded Lagos,Enugu etc
    4. All IDP from his region are government pikin
All these and more are mile stones. I beg to be contradicted.

  6. APC knows how to cry to get ppl’s vote. Lie (Aturota) Muhammed will soon come out very soon that Buhari cannot fuck his wife bicos GEJ had mess up d beds in Aso_rock villa. Nigeria with population of abt 1600 million enter one Chance bus called APC.
