APC chieftain to Tinubu: Conduct financial integrity review for your cabinet members

Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun state, has called on President Bola Tinubu to conduct an integrity review of his cabinet members to ensure the success of his administration.

Oyintiloye spoke with journalists on Sunday in Osogbo, Osun State capital.

He emphasized that the review is necessary to guarantee the integrity of the “renewed hope agenda” and to promote transparency and accountability among cabinet members, heads of ministries, departments, and agencies.

Oyintiloye added that the integrity review should go beyond simply measuring numerical achievements in each ministry.

He said it should also assess how resources allocated to cabinet members are being used for the benefit of the public.

He expressed concern that the efforts of the president to alleviate poverty through various intervention programs are being undermined by “greedy and unpatriotic individuals.”

He appealed to the president not to allow any selfish individual to drag his administration and reputation to the mud.

“There is a need to genuinely fight corruption in the system, which will in turn renew the hope of the masses in this present adminstration,” Oyintiloye said.

“And that is why the president need to continually engaging in financial integrity review of his cabinet members, who are his foot soldiers in the renewed hope agenda.

“It obvious that Mr President is passionate and committed in lifting millions of Nigerians out of poverty level and revitalised the economy through its interventions programmes in various ministry, departments and agencies of government.

“But those who are not in the tune with the president in growing the economy and minimise poverty are the ones who see position of authority as a means of enriching their pockets.

“And this is kind of mentality is slowing down the impacts of the various poverty alleviation programmes on the masses.”

Oyintiloye commended the president for the establishment of special presidential panel for the review and audit of existing financial frameworks and policy guidelines of the social investment programmes.

The APC chieftain, who noted that the establishment of the panel was a right step in checking fraudulent activities, said the level of corruption in the handling of the social investment programmes in the ministry since its commencement was heartbreaking and alarming.

He further applauded the ongoing reforms in the humanitarian affairs and poverty alleviation ministry.

However, he expressed disappointment that a ministry intended to serve the most vulnerable in society has been turned into a “money-making venture” for some individuals.

Oyintiloye said with avowed passion and commitment of the president to the welfare of the masses, Nigeria is on the path of greatness.
