The national leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dissolved its state working committee in Benue state.
This is despite an interim ruling restraining the national leadership of the party from dissolving the executive committee.
The APC in Benue has had two warring factions.
There is the Benjamin Omakolo-led faction loyal to Hyacinth Alia, the governor, and another led by Agada loyal to George Akume, secretary to the government of the federation (SGF).

In March, Alia inaugurated the Omakolo-led faction after Agada was suspended from his ward at Ehaje and a court restrained him from parading himself as chair of APC in Benue.
The rift between Akume and Alia is responsible for the power tussle between both factions of the party in the state.
However, on Wednesday, Abdullahi Ganduje, national chair of the party, inaugurated a seven-member caretaker committee of the APC for Benue.
