A group known as Adamawa Concerned APC Stakeholders Forum has commended President Bola Tinubu for appointing Ahmed Aminu as the executive secretary of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF).

In a statement issued on Thursday, Moddibo Mustapha, the group’s convener, said Aminu is an astute civil servant with a proven track record of excellence.

The group claimed that opposition elements and “mischievous” politicians in Adamawa are sponsoring a “campaign of hate” to discredit Aminu’s appointment.

“We cannot keep silent while mischievous elements and envious opposition sympathizers parading as members of the APC, attempt to discredit the appointment of a man who has all it takes to revamp and revitalize the Petroleum Technology Trust Fund and achieve milestones,” the statement reads.

“While we understand the unease many opposition elements are already feeling by Mr. President’s infallible way of appointing those who have the capacity to assist him to deliver on his renewed hope mandate, we wish to condemn in totality, the attempt by opposition elements and mischievous Adamawa politicians to sponsor hate campaigns.

“The futile attempt to link the distinguished Hon. Ahmed Galadima Aminu, a civil servant of proven records to the Atiku PDP political camp is quite laughable.

“We recognize it as one of the known tactics of using media propaganda and lies to attempt to bully unbending progressives in Adamawa state by PDP elements who perceive them as big threats to the party’s totalitarian agenda in the state.”

The group said Aminu is “one of Adamawa’s finest exports worthy of such lofty appointment”.
