APC HQ overrules Gombe chapter, dismisses expulsion of Danjuma Goje

The national leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) says Danjuma Goje, a former governor of Gombe is a “bonafide member” of the party.

The party was reacting to the purported expulsion of the former senator by the APC in Gombe state in April.

Tanimu Abdullahi, chairman of APC Kashere ward, Akko LGA of Gombe, accused Goje of anti-party activities during the elections.

“Goje also hobnobbed with opposition parties and their candidates with the intent to undermine the success of the APC in Gombe state and Nigeria in general,” Abdullahi had said.

In a statement on Thursday, Felix Morka, APC’s spokesperson, said all the actions of the party in Gombe have been set aside pending a review and decision of the national working committee (NWC).

“The attention of the national headquarters of APC has been drawn to media reports of the purported expulsion of His Excellency, Senator Mohammad Danjuma Goje by the Gombe State Executive Committee of our party,” Morka said.

“The party has directed that the said expulsion and all related actions in the matter be, and are hereby, set aside pending further review and decision of the party’s NWC on the matter.
