The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has wants the All Progressives Congress (APC) to “come out clean and explain to Nigerians its connections” with the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND).
On Tuesday, MEND endorsed Muhammadu Buhari for the February presidential election, saying Goodluck Jonathan did not deserve another term in office.
Olisa Metuh, PDP spokesman, on Wednesday observed that while the onus lies on the APC to choose those to work with in their quest for power, the explanation had become necessary following the public reactions and concerns trailing MEND’s statement backing Buhari.
“What exactly does APC have in common with MEND? Why do they want to resurrect it? Nigerians want to know.

“Are we also expecting a similar statement from insurgents in the north, who initially named Buhari to lead the dialogue between them and the dederal government? Nigerians are indeed worried by these developments.”
PDP therefore urged APC to “come out clean and explain to the citizens what they have in common with these groups, especially given the statement by their flag bearer, after the 2011 elections, that the dogs and baboons will all be soaked in blood.”
