The All Progressives Congress (APC) says it is not aware that Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the national leader of the party, endorsed Segun Abraham, an aspirant seeking to clinch the Ondo governorship ticket in the forthcoming primary election.
Tunji Abayomi, an aspirant, challenged Tinubu for interfering with the primary election.
Tinubu had said that he had a right to support any aspirant for the ticket in the primaries scheduled to take place on August 27.
Speaking to journalists at the APC national secretariat on Wednesday, Oji Ngofa, the deputy national secretary, said the party had summoned the aspirants to Abuja on Saturday to resolve the division caused by the endorsement.

“We are not aware of any such endorsements. The person that was claimed to be endorsed has come out to deny, there’s no such thing but our responsibility as a party is to build confidence in the system, let our party members and supporters know that we are not going to do anything that is untoward and are committed to credible, transparent and free exercise that everybody will reckon with,” he said.
“We know the peculiar situation in Ondo, we are aware we’ll clear all so no need for this crisis and no need for anyone for anyone to feel short-changed because we owe them a duty here to ensure that the right thing is done.
“We have taken a decision to invite all the aspirants, the state chairman and the state secretary to be meeting here on Saturday by 12pm.

“At that meeting, we will ensure that everybody is on the same page, what our party constitution says on primaries, we’ll get the confidence of everybody. There’s no need for crisis in Ondo state.
He added that Isaac Kekemeke, state chairman did not have the powers altering the delegates list, saying: “We have our delegates list and we’ll make that very clear and available to the aspirants.”
