The All Progressive Congress (APC) has denied being involved in the barricade of the national assembly.
Earlier on Tuesday, operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) blocked all entrances to the national assembly while lawmakers and staff were prevented from gaining access to the complex.
In a statement by Yekini Nabena, acting national publicity secretary of the APC, the party said it monitored the developments in the national assembly like every other concerned Nigerian and stakeholder.
“Our attention has been drawn to mischievous attempts in some partisan quarters to link Tuesday’s developments in the national assembly to the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole,” the statement read.

“While the party is monitoring the developments in the national assembly like every other concerned Nigerian and stakeholder, there is absolutely no basis for all the allegations and attempt to blame the APC national chairman for the development there.
“It is strictly a legislative matter.”
The lawmakers eventually gained entry into the complex after the blockade which lasted over seven hours.

No reason was given by the security operatives but Acting President Yemi Osinbajo later ordered the sack of Lawal Daura, director-general of the Department of State Services (DSS).
