The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said the speculated running mates of its presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari, are fit to be president, asking for prayers as the party takes the final decision this week.
Chibuike Amaechi, governor of Rivers state, Adams Oshiomhole, governor of Edo state, Kayode Fayemi, former governor of Ekiti state, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, former governor of Lagos state, and Yemi Osibajo, former attorney general of Lagos state, are some of the speculated candidates for vice-president of the APC.
However, the party says it is yet to meet to decide on a running mate for Buhari, assuring Nigerians that the process will be within the context of the best democratic ideals.
Speaking through its spokesman, Lai Mohammed, on Sunday, it urged Nigerians to ignore reports about the choice of its presidential running mate, adding that no choice had been made by the party.

The APC described the reports that a running mate had been picked to run with its presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari, “as unnecessarily sensational, downright speculative and totally misleading.”
”We are using this opportunity to tell Nigerians to pray for us as we seek to pick a running mate for our presidential candidate. This is because this choice is not just for us but for all of Nigeria,” the party said.
“Every one of the candidates who have been speculated as a running mate to Buhari is unquestionably competent to be a vice president or even president.
