The All Progressives Congress (APC) has won all 21 seats in the LGA elections held in Kogi state on Saturday.
Mamman Nda-Eri, the chairperson of the Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission (KOSIEC), announced the results.
Nda-Eri said the APC also won all 239 councillorship seats in the state.
He described the LGA elections as “peaceful, free, and fair”.

“APC performed excellently; it cleared all the chairmanship and councillorship positions, leaving nothing to the other 18 political parties that took part in the election,” NAN quoted Nda-Eri as saying.
“The results declared at the headquarters were earlier declared at the various collations centres by the respective returning officers.
“As chairman of KOSIEC, I hereby confirm the results earlier collated and returned by the returning officers.”

The KOSIEC chairman expressed gratitude to election officials, security personnel, observers, and journalists, acknowledging their role in ensuring a successful electoral process.
Notably, a woman won the chairperson seat in Ogori-Magongo LGA.
Ahead of the polls, the Kogi APC had reserved LGA vice-chairperson positions for women.
The APC also resolved to reserve 40 percent of its councillorship tickets for female candidates.
