APC spokesman warns Buhari: An exodus of party members is looming

Timi Frank, deputy national publicity secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), says the party may be no more by 2019 if its internal crisis is not settled.

Speaking with journalists on Tuesday, Frank said party has up to January 2017 to fix its crisis, else some some members may begin to seek “alternatives” in pursuit of their political agenda.

He said he did not want the party to die under the stewardship of John Oyegun, the national chairman.

“APC has within now and January 2017 to get things right; failure to do so before that time might be too late because most of us by then will be seeking alternatives to pursue our political agenda. If we are not careful, there might not be APC in 2019,” Frank said.

“I don’t want APC to die under Oyegun and it is important for President Muhammadu Buhari to have a rethink. When Oyegun was Chairman of ANPP, it was his incompetence that led Buhari out of the party to form CPC. This man’s same incompetence is about to drive most members of the party out if something urgent is not done.

“I will be writing officially to the President to get an audience with him so that I can have the opportunity to brief him on why Oyegun has to go. I’m also going to write the Vice President, the Senate President, the Speaker of the House of Representatives and other founding fathers of our party.

“I will also be paying a visit to all party leaders because it is important important I brief them on why Oyegun has to go; we must not keep quiet till this party dies; we should be able to revive it at this stage.

“I will be paying visits to Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all the past National Chairmen of the parties that merged to form the APC. I will pay a visit to my own National Chairman then, Alhaji Kawu Baraje, who led the New PDP to the APC. I will also be visiting Chief Ogbonnaya Onu, the then Chairman of ANPP; Chief Bisi Akande, Chairman of defunct ACN; Chief Toni Momoh, the national chairman of CPC; and Governor Rochas Okorocha who led a faction of APGA to APC.

“This is a visit I will be starting anytime soon. It is important for me to let you know that my first person I’ll be visiting is Alhaji Kawu Baraje; he was my Chairman that led many of us to the APC; It is important I go back to him.”

  1. APC HAS BEEN HIJACKED BY CABAL. SO THERE IS NEED FOR NEW PARTY AND NOT MERGER OF PARTIES WITH DIFFERENT PRINCIPLES. BOLA TINUBU MUST BE ALLOWED A RIGTHFUL POSITION AND HONOUR OTHERWISE THE GOD OF POLITICS WILL FALL APC IN 2017

  2. Timi are you sure what’s happening in the party wasn’t pre planned?
PMB has gotten all he wanted which is becoming President, So I don’t think he cares about anything else.
He has never been a party man and like my people will say you don’t learn the use of your left at old age.
