The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe state has suspended Amos Bulus, a senator, and Yunusa Abubakar, a member of the house of representatives, over alleged anti-party activities.

Bulus and Abubakar represent Gombe south and Yamaltu/Deba federal constituency respectively.

In a statement on Saturday, Moses Kyari, APC spokesperson in the state, said the lawmakers were suspended by their ward executives.

Kyari said they were found guilty of allegedly engaging in anti-party activities during the just concluded elections.

He said a petition was written against them and a committee was constituted to investigate the allegations.

Kyari said the state APC executive council has ratified their suspension.

“He (Bulus) was suspended for anti-party activities at the just-concluded general election,” the APC spokesperson said.

“This came about as a result of a petition written from his ward which caused a five-man committee from the ward to investigate and get to the root of the matter, about two weeks ago.”

In May 2022, Joshua Lidani, a former deputy governor of Gombe state defeated Bulus to get the ticket of the APC for the Gombe south senatorial district.

In March 2023, Bulus denied the accusation of campaigning against the party.
