The All Progressives Congress (APC) says those questioning the legitimacy of the victory of Bola Tinubu at the presidential election cannot handle defeat.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP) have filed suits at the presidential election tribunal challenging the victory of Tinubu.
Speaking on Politics Today, a Channels Television programme, on Tuesday, Felix Morka, APC spokesperson, said he feels sympathy for them.
“There are people in our democracy who can’t handle the fact that they lost,” Morka said when asked why the opposition sees Tinubu’s mandate as “illegitimate”.

“Personally, I feel some level of sympathy for them. You contest an election and you give all you have got, you went into it, hoping to win but you didn’t win, someone else won. The candidate of the APC won the election. He was declared [winner] by INEC.”
Morka said there is no crisis in the APC, and that what is being witnessed is not “unusual”.
“What we are witnessing in the party is normal, people who contested elections and individual party members who are aggrieved by whatever reason are human beings and the constitution of Nigeria guarantees them the right to ventilate to canvass remedial procedures,” he said.

On where the party would zone the position of senate president, he said the APC would soon disclose its decision.
“Our party is committed to doing fairness, doing justice and doing equity,” Morka said.
